Why We're Different

Intentionally Small

In this industry, "small group" can mean 8-12 dogs. Ours means 2-3. Your dog isn't a number in a pack.

Carefully Matched

We meet every dog first and pair them with compatible friends based on temperament, energy, play style, and breed. Every group is thoughtfully put together.

Quiet, Secluded Trails

Secret ravines and tucked-away forest trails that basically no one else goes to. Quiet, private, and perfect for roaming, exploring, and playing.

Safety Standards

Individual crated transport. Tractive GPS tracking on every dog. Bear bells, bear spray, and a pet first aid certified hiker with a full kit on every adventure.

Sniffari Adventures

Two happy dogs relaxing together on a mossy forest floor

Sniffari Adventures

Freedom to roam, explore, and socialize in a small, carefully matched group. Running through ferns, splashing through creeks, sniffing every trail—being fully, unapologetically dog.

$60 + GST / hike

Every Sniffari Adventure is approximately 1.5–2 hours door-to-door, with 1 hour on secluded forest trails. Your dog is individually matched with 1-2 compatible hiking buddies and GPS-tracked the entire time. We use only force-free, rewards-based methods — every adventure includes treats, toys, and genuine fun. Weekly subscription only.

30+ lbs

Off-Leash Sniffari

For dogs 30 lbs and over. Off-leash forest hiking through Port Moody's most scenic trails—running, playing, building confidence.

Your dog must have reliable recall or be actively working toward it. We assess readiness during the meet & greet.

Under 30 lbs

Small Dog Sniffari

Tailored for small dogs in an intimate, size-appropriate group. Scenic on-leash hikes with rich sensory experiences and plenty of time to sniff, socialize, and soak in the trail.

Paired only with other small dogs for appropriate pacing and play.

How It Works

1

Book a Meet & Greet

Choose a time that works for you and we'll come meet you and your dog at your home.

2

Let's Meet

We'll chat about your dog's personality, answer your questions, and make sure we're the right fit. If we are, you'll fill out a client information form to get started.

3

Adventures Begin

Your dog starts with solo adventures with me so I can get to know their personality, build trust, and figure out where they'll fit best — then they gradually join their carefully matched hiking crew.

We're selective about who we take on—not every dog is a fit for off-leash or small-group hiking adventures, and that's okay. We'll always be upfront with you after the meet & greet.

What Clients Say

"
After trying a pack walking service where my dog came home stressed, this is night and day. She actually has friends now—the same 2-3 dogs every week. It's not chaos, it's community.

"
Katia's pricing is worth every penny for the peace of mind. My dog has actual friends now, and I get these amazing photo reports every week that make my day.

"
My dog literally runs to the door when Katia arrives. I've never seen him this excited about anything. It's the highlight of his week—and honestly, ours too.

Hi, I'm Katia

Katia with a dog on a forest trail

I moved from Ontario to BC three years ago with a business degree, a love for animals, and an entrepreneurial spirit — and built PoMo Pup Adventures from the ground up. While you're at work, your dog gets to spend their morning the way dogs were meant to: out in nature, exploring with friends, and coming home tired and happy. I use only force-free, rewards-based methods, and I keep my groups intentionally small so every dog gets the attention they deserve.

Common Questions

We serve Port Moody, Coquitlam, and select areas in the Tri-Cities. During the meet & greet, we'll confirm if your location is within our service area.
Our Sniffari Adventures for dogs 30+ lbs are off-leash only—it's central to the experience we offer and how we keep groups small and safe. If your dog is a puppy between 6-12 months and you're actively working on recall, we have a Puppy Bridge Program where we work with them solo on a long line to help build their recall and get them ready for off-leash group adventures. Reach out and we can chat about whether it's a good fit.
We understand the desire—some small dogs have excellent recall and love to run. But our Sniffari Adventures take place in very remote, quiet forest areas where wildlife is significantly more active than on popular public trails. Coyotes, birds of prey, and other animals are a real and regular presence. Even with great recall, a small dog is at higher risk in these environments, and that's a level of risk we're not comfortable carrying on behalf of someone else's dog. Keeping small dogs on-leash isn't a reflection of their ability—it's responsible risk management for the specific terrain where we hike.
Safety is built into everything we do. We assess every dog individually and only take them off-leash once they have reliable recall with us specifically. New dogs start with solo adventures with me before joining a group, so we build a real relationship first. Every dog wears a Tractive GPS tracker, and every adventure includes bear bells, bear spray, dog spray, and a pet first aid kit. We don't rush the process—some dogs take weeks before they're trail-ready.
We work on a weekly subscription model. Consistency is key to building the relationships and recall reliability that make our off-leash Sniffari Adventures safe and enjoyable. Dogs thrive on routine and familiar hiking buddies—and it shows in how excited they get when they see each other each week.
